Conférence sur la compétence relationnelle à l’école (en anglais)

mai 22 @ 11 h 00 min - 14 h 00 min

Gratuit

What does relational competence look like in the classroom?

An example of its demonstration with a student followed by the presentation of a research project including teachers.

In Canada, relational competence takes rarely place in teacher training programs. In Rimouski (province of Québec), the University (www.uqar.ca) accepted to include introspection and relational competence training in a classroom management course as a pilot project. The student-teachers were familiarized with the five components model based on Juul and Jensen definition of relational competence. This lecture will present a part of the theory they learned with an illustrated example in the classroom. Then, a research project heading to explore what it means for teachers to be relationally competent will be described.
